Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Happy Slashensmash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eriks Tregubs!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slashensmash bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Tregubs is trying to control Slashensmash's posture but Slashensmash avoids it.
Tregubs trying his best to control but Slashensmash has mounted him.
Tregubs is wriggling around trying to escape.
Slashensmash raining down shots from the mount!
Slashensmash sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Tregubs is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slashensmash is landing with some decent strikes but Tregubs is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tregubs is wriggling around trying to escape.

Slashensmash tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Slashensmash seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tregubs for as long as he can get away with.
Tregubs can't escape the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Slashensmash cracks Tregubs with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Tregubs wants to improve his position but instead Slashensmash has moved into half guard.

Slashensmash wants to work for an arm triangle but Tregubs is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tregubs is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slashensmash's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Slashensmash looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Slashensmash keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Tregubs tries to roll over but Slashensmash keeps him under control.
Slashensmash is taking a breather. Tregubs says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Tregubs wants to get back to his feet.
Slashensmash working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Slashensmash lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Tregubs lands with a kick to the temple. Slashensmash shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Slashensmash closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Slashensmash happy to just control the position for now.
Slashensmash has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Tregubs!
Slashensmash takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Slashensmash has hold of Tregubs's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tregubs manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Slashensmash has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Tregubs throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Slashensmash lands a heavy elbow.
Tregubs can't escape the position.
Tregubs takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Happy Slashensmash showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Slashensmash, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
