PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce The Boxer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Killdozer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce The Boxer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Killdozer!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The Boxer decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Killdozer looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
The Boxer is trying to control. Killdozer wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The Boxer's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Killdozer is not content to let The Boxer control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The Boxer is looking for a kimura but Killdozer is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for The Boxer to get the leverage.

The Boxer is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with The Boxer in particular looking to stall.
Killdozer is looking to improve his position.
The Boxer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Killdozer keeps working.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The Boxer has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The Boxer seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Killdozer for as long as he can get away with.

The Boxer decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

The Boxer closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Killdozer's face as The Boxer controls the position.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Bruce The Boxer just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
The Boxer shoots in but Killdozer avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Killdozer tries for a takedown but The Boxer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The Boxer fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bruce The Boxer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Killdozer lands with a short punch from the clinch.
The Boxer jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Killdozer walks away with a smile on his face. The Boxer gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruce The Boxer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Killdozer shoots in for a takedown but The Boxer shows good takedown defense.

Killdozer moves into the clinch.
Killdozer tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. The Boxer just stands there and leans against the cage.

The Boxer manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruce The Boxer dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Killdozer throws a quick inside leg kick.
Horrible takedown by The Boxer or perhaps it was just good defense by Killdozer which made him look bad.

The Boxer turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Killdozer is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The Boxer working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The Boxer decides to stand back up. The Boxer steps back and let's Killdozer get back to his feet.

The Boxer closes the distance but Killdozer moves to the side

and Killdozer counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The Boxer throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Killdozer escapes and throws The Boxer's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The Boxer manages to work his way to half guard, despite Killdozer's best efforts.
Killdozer thows a huge punch but The Boxer dodges it nicely.
The Boxer flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Killdozer is trying to control. The Boxer wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The Boxer trying to hold on to Killdozer's head to control him but Killdozer postures up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Killdozer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Killdozer wants to get up but he can't break The Boxer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The Boxer has Killdozer pulled in close to control his posture.
Killdozer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. The Boxer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Dan Killdozer will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The Boxer is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Killdozer can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Killdozer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with The Boxer but The Boxer pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Bruce The Boxer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Killdozer is wriggling around trying to escape.

The Boxer can't control as he wanted to and Killdozer manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The Boxer looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The Boxer wants to control but Killdozer is keeping him busy.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bruce The Boxer showed his dominance in that final round.
I think The Boxer has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
