Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Croc Bot (ranked 3785 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Talbert (ranked 4778 p4p, 0 weight class). Croc Bot has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Croc Bot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robert Talbert!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Peter Branson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bot gets caught flat footed, as Talbert shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Talbert controls from within his opponent's guard.
Bot bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Talbert's guard.

Bot got a little sloppy there for a moment and Talbert has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bot has managed to get both his arms back between Talbert's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Talbert has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bot can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Bot wants to pass the guard but Talbert is keeping the position.

Bot drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bot jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Talbert is pulling down on Bot's head. It's preventing any offense from Bot, at least for the moment.
Bot wants to control from the top but Talbert keeps moving.
Talbert looking for a sweep. Not yet Talbert, not yet.
Talbert pulls Bot in to control the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Talbert can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Talbert swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Bot wants to work for an arm triangle but Talbert is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Talbert is trying to get back to full guard.
Talbert is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Bot wants to control but Talbert is keeping him busy.
Talbert is controlling Bot's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Bot looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Bot seems to be working for a kimura but Talbert defends the submission attempt.

Bot prevents Talbert from improving his position.

Bot wants to work for an arm triangle but Talbert is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bot is breathing heavily.
Talbert is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Talbert is looking for a sweep. Bot is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Talbert is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Talbert is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bot's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bot's back!

Talbert keeps control of the position as Bot tries to break free.
Bot is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Bot turns into Talbert and is now in his guard.
Bot won't allow Talbert to sweep him here.
Talbert is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Bot wants to control from the top but Talbert keeps moving.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Talbert holds on and takes a little breather.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Robert Talbert will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Talbert throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bot was covering up waiting for the punch and Talbert finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bot has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Talbert is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Bot.

Bot tries to lock up and control but Talbert gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Talbert is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Bot has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Talbert should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Talbert is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bot is just riding it out for now. Talbert eventually gives up the hold.
Talbert seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bot does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Bot is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Talbert has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Talbert goes for an armbar but Bot turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Bot.
Talbert has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Bot has gone for a leg lock! Talbert slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bot's guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Talbert really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bot. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Talbert's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Talbert stays in close to Bot's body and controls the position.
Croc Bot has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Talbert is looking to take a break and control but Bot is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Talbert wants to take Bot's back here but Bot is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Bot slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Bot moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Talbert controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Robert Talbert has got the better of the ground game so far.
Robert Talbert is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Talbert has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
