0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vladimir Pootin! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pootin misses with the body kick and Beasley counters with a takedown into side control. Pootin tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Beasley prevents Pootin from getting the reversal. Pootin is trying to stand. Beasley lands a nice shot to the head. Beasley lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Beasley connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pootin is wriggling around trying to escape.
Pootin is bucking up trying to escape but Beasley cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Beasley lands a big elbow. Beasley working Pootin over with strikes here. Pootin is trying to escape the mount.
Beasley really is a fat lump. Beasley avoids the attempt from Pootin to control. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Beasley cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Beasley scoring with strikes but Pootin is staying in there. Pootin tries to hold on but Beasley pushes him away. Beasley lands a heavy elbow. Beasley avoids the attempt from Pootin to control. Pootin keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Beasley avoids the attempt from Pootin to control. Beasley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pootin is looking to improve his position but Beasley isn't that keen on the idea. Beasley with the ground and pound from mount. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pootin is wriggling around trying to escape.
Beasley landing strikes from the mount and Pootin is in trouble! Beasley with good strikes from the mount here! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pootin tries to improve his position but Beasley has taken his back! Beasley has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Pootin tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Beasley pushes Pootin away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
