Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nestor Reyes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rale Svan!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Fedor Mirinova and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Svan shoots in and gets a takedown into Reyes's guard.

Reyes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Svan defends it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Svan is looking to stand up but Reyes won't let him.
Svan wants to pass the guard but Reyes is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Svan postures up in Reyes's guard and throws a big left but Reyes blocks it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Svan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Reyes has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Svan is on him like a limpet, forcing Reyes back against the cage.

Svan decides to pull guard.

Svan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Reyes is aware though and is defending well.
Svan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reyes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Reyes won't allow Svan to get back to his feet.

Svan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Reyes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Reyes with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Svan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Reyes is aware though and is defending well.

Svan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Svan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Svan taking a break here but Reyes is having none of it and regains half guard.

Svan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Reyes manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Svan keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Reyes stalls.
Reyes lands a body punch in the clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Svan has clasped his hands together around Reyes's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Reyes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Reyes is in close to Svan's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Reyes cracks Svan with a solid left hand.
Svan has momentary wrist control but Reyes slips an elbow through the middle.
Reyes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Svan is pulling down on Reyes's head to control his posture.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reyes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Svan tries to clinch there but Reyes circles away.
Reyes appears to be looking for a big counter.

Svan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Reyes wants to get back to his feet but Svan drags him back down.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Svan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Reyes tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Svan is in Reyes's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Svan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Reyes to the mat! Reyes manages to get full guard.

Reyes manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Reyes swats away the attempt to clinch by Svan.
Reyes tries for a takedown but Svan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Svan tries a head kick but it misses.
Reyes tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Svan defends well and Reyes ends up having to push Svan into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Reyes gets caught flat footed, as Svan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Reyes pushes Svan off and gets back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Some wild striking there from Reyes.

Svan manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Reyes on his heels. He'll look to pass Reyes's guard now, I'm sure.

Svan gets to his feet. Reyes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Rale Svan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reyes darts in looking for a takedown but Svan gets double underhooks and turns Reyes into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nestor Reyes. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Svan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Reyes to the ground. Svan is now in Reyes's guard.

Svan is looking for a triangle but Reyes pushes his legs off easily.

Svan thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Svan has his feet on Reyes's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Reyes keeps the fight on the outside.
Reyes throws a big counter combination but Svan scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Reyes moves out of range of the body kick from Svan.
Svan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Reyes paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Svan works the jab nicely.

Svan scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Svan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reyes keeps working.
Reyes pushes Svan away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Svan gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Rale Svan.
I think Reyes has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
