Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathanael Jones (ranked 7265 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Schultz (ranked 4682 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nathanael Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Schultz! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Schultz drives through and clinches with Jones against the cage.
Schultz stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Schultz tightens his grip and picks Jones up, before dumping him to the ground. Jones manages to land in guard. Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Schultz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Schultz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Schultz has gone for a leg lock! Jones slips out almost immediately though and dives into Schultz's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schultz is pulling down on Jones's head to control his posture. Jones stands up from Schultz's guard - Jones perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones tries to keep at a distance but Schultz has taken the fight into the clinch. Jones fails to pull guard.
Schultz pulls guard. Jones preventing the sweep. Schultz working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jones. Schultz looking for a sweep. Not yet Schultz, not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schultz keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Schultz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schultz pulls Jones in close to prevent any damage. Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Schultz is trying to control the position but Jones postures up. Jones throws a big right hand that misses. Jones stopping the sweep attempt from Schultz. Schultz controlling Jones's posture.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Schultz closes the distance and clinches. Schultz has hold of one of Jones's legs. Jones is fighting the takedown attempt but Schultz gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Jones is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Schultz presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Schultz with an attempt at a knee that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schultz prevents Jones from breaking the clinch. The referee calls for Schultz to work.
Schultz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Schultz's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Schultz works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jones controls from within his opponent's guard. Schultz scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Jones closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Schultz quickly recovers to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Jones missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Jones is trying to control. Schultz wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Schultz trying to hold on to Jones's head to control him but Jones postures up.
Schultz is looking to improve his position.
Schultz taking some punishment here, with Jones in his half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jones is keen to just control but Schultz is a slippery customer. Schultz is pressing down on Jones's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Schultz is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Dave Schultz will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Schultz moves into the clinch. Schultz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nathanael Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jones avoids a kick to the body.
Jones avoids the head kick by Schultz.
Dave Schultz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones fails with the takedown and Schultz counters with a left and a right that stings Jones. Schultz clinches with his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schultz gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jones tries to kick Schultz off in order to stand up. Schultz Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Schultz decides to stand back up. Schultz steps back and let's Jones get back to his feet. Jones really is a fat lump.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones gets caught napping as Schultz dives in and scores a takedown. Jones manages to retain guard. Schultz decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jones, up you get! A momentary lapse in concentration from Jones enables Schultz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jones manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The fighters are working up against the cage. Jones manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Schultz is breathing heavily. Schultz wants to break the clinch but can't.
Schultz tightens his grip and picks Jones up, before dumping him to the ground. Jones manages to land in guard. Jones is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Schultz dives into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action! Jones is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Schultz tries to move into full mount but can't pass Jones's legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schultz decides to stand up, so the ref orders Jones to his feet. Schultz forces Jones back against the cage and clinches. Schultz looking to throw knees to the head but Jones is blocking nicely.
Jones fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Schultz working hard to break the clinch. Schultz pushes Jones back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Schultz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Schultz. Jones fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathanael Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Schultz drives through with a takedown into Jones's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Schultz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Jones throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Jones is working an open guard so Schultz takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Schultz connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Jones! He's out on his feet! Schultz rushes in and drops Jones with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Dave Schultz!
