Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Santiago Costa (ranked 529 p4p, 75 weight class) and Papa Moosh Dambullah (ranked 594 p4p, 88 weight class). Dambullah has chosen Boom Boom as his entrance music. Santiago Costa had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Santiago Costa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Papa Moosh Dambullah!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dambullah fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Costa manages to avoid it.
Costa uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dambullah.
Costa tries to counter with a takedown but Dambullah is quick to defend against it.
Dambullah takes a swing at Costa's ribcage but misses.
Costa moves out of range as Dambullah throws a body kick.
Dambullah throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Costa misses with a takedown attempt - Dambullah sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Costa misses the shot to the body.
Costa punishes Dambullah's body with a nice straight punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dambullah looks to throw the jab but Costa is out of range.
Costa attempts a counter takedown but Dambullah avoids it well and moves away.

Dambullah has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Costa fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

and Costa counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Costa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dambullah was well out of range. Poor timing from Costa.

Costa ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Costa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dambullah sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Costa somewhat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dambullah lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Costa circles away quickly and effectively.

Costa fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Dambullah looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Costa is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dambullah.
It seemed like Dambullah was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Costa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dambullah was well out of range. Poor timing from Costa.

and Dambullah counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dambullah throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dambullah throws a chopping leg kick but Costa manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Santiago Costa will probably get the nod.

Costa can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dambullah controls the pace.
Dambullah sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Costa's guard.
Dambullah stalling away here and it's allowed Costa to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Costa is trying to control the position but Dambullah postures up.

Dambullah looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Costa is staying active underneath Dambullah, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Costa works his way to full guard. Good work.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Dambullah got a little sloppy there for a moment and Costa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dambullah has managed to get both his arms back between Costa's legs - danger averted.
Dambullah seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Dambullah bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Costa's guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Santiago Costa.
Well Costa has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
