Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vain Dain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clint Westwood! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dain closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Westwood did well to prevent Dain getting side control. Dain is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Westwood is just riding it out for now. Dain eventually gives up the hold. Westwood is trying to control but can't.
Well, if Dain is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Dain is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dain perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Dain is looking for a kimura but Westwood is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dain to get the leverage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dain stalling. Dain wants to pass to mount but Westwood is defending the position. Dain seems to be working for a kimura but Westwood defends the submission attempt. Dain is looking for a kimura here.
Dain looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dain definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Dain controlling the action here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Dain seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Westwood for as long as he can get away with. Westwood wants to control the action here but instead Dain manages to pass to full mount! Dain controlling his opponent. Westwood is wriggling around trying to escape.

Dain jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Westwood manages to avoid the submission attempt. Westwood can't do much from the bottom here. Dain tries to move into full mount but can't pass Westwood's legs. Dain is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Westwood knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Dain gets to mount! Westwood was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Dain looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Westwood is looking to get to half guard. Westwood tries to lock up and control but Dain gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Westwood is looking to improve his position but Dain isn't that keen on the idea. Dain tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vain Dain dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Dain shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Westwood manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Dain stays in close to Westwood's body and controls the position. Dain got a little sloppy there for a moment and Westwood has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dain has managed to get both his arms back between Westwood's legs - danger averted. Westwood is trying to keep Dain in close.

Westwood is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Westwood manages to kick Dain off! Dain jumps back into Westwood's guard. Dain pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Westwood is keeping the position for now. Vain Dain overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dain is looking to pass into half guard but Westwood pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Westwood is in guard. Dain is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dain keeping moving, preventing Westwood from controlling successfully. Dain looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Westwood trying to control the position from guard on top but Dain is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dain escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Westwood gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Westwood trying to control but Dain is working from the bottom. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Dain holds on and takes a little breather. Westwood slips nicely into half guard. Westwood prevents Dain from improving his position. Westwood is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dain sees it coming and defends easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dain gets full guard. Dain looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Westwood drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dain looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dain looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dain! You can see the frustration on Westwood's face as Dain controls the position. Dain in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Westwood is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
