The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Coves misses.
Coves avoids a punch combination nicely.

Tanikai darts in and clinches Coves up against the cage.
Coves has had enough of the clinch but Tanikai keeps him there for the moment.

Tanikai pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Coves misses with a jab, cross combination.
Oh, that's a big right hand from Tanikai and Coves goes tumbling to the canvas! Tanikai follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

It looks like Joao Coves has been cut.
Tanikai slips a nice elbow through Coves's hands, connecting with Coves's forehead.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Coves is trying to stand.

Tanikai decides to stand and escape the position.
Tanikai steps into range and cracks Coves with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Coves flops backwards and Tanikai dives into his guard looking to finish!

Coves is rocked!
Coves looks gassed!

Tanikai decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Coves is still on wobbly legs! Can Tanikai finish him?
Tanikai grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Coves takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Tanikai cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
