The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a takedown attempt - KT sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
KT is looking to score with low kicks.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as KT sprawls well. KT wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
Smith moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromKT.
Smith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but KT avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Don Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smith tries to pull guard but KT won't allow it.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by KT as Smith tries to tie him up.
KT lands a knee to the body.
Smith is breathing heavily.

KT lands with a right to the head.
KT unloads a knee to the mid-section. Smith lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
KT digs a right hand underneath Smith's ribcage. Smith let out a lung full of air as it connected.
KT is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

KT lands an uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

KT tries to land a knee to the head but Smith blocks with his arms.
Smith blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
KT lands a right hand that snaps the head of Smith backwards.
Smith is rocked!
KT using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Smith has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
KT pushes Smith against the cage. KT is working some dirty boxing. KT pushes off with a quick right hook! Smith goes down! Smith tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! KT moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
