Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hyabusa scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Thompson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hyabusa connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Thompson scrambles back to his feet.
Hyabusa connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Thompson has managed to clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hyabusa prevents Thompson from getting back to his feet.
Hyabusa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Thompson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hyabusa has managed to get both his arms back between Thompson's legs - danger averted.
Hyabusa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thompson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hyabusa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thompson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hyabusa wants to control from the top but Thompson keeps moving.

Hyabusa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thompson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hyabusa is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Thompson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Thompson has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hyabusa wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Thompson tries a head kick but it misses.

Hyabusa lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Thompson backwards.
Hyabusa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hyabusa is trying to drag Thompson to the mat but Thompson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Thompson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hyabusa gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Still in the clinch, Hyabusa scores with a nice short uppercut.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Thompson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hyabusa is controlling him.

Ryu Hyabusa dominated that round.
That's time! Thompson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Hyabusa lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Thompson tries for a takedown but Hyabusa manages to get underhooks.
Still in the clinch, Hyabusa scores with a nice short uppercut.
Thompson jumps guard and drags Hyabusa to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Hyabusa stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Thompson has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Hyabusa manages to get his head free but now Thompson has transitioned to an armbar! Hyabusa grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Thompson! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
