Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between William Snowdon (ranked 342 p4p, 56 weight class) and Woody Wood (ranked 1417 p4p, 191 weight class). William Snowdon has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Snowdon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Woody Wood!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Snowdon's head.
Snowdon takes a swing at Wood's ribcage but misses.
Snowdon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wood sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Snowdon throws a looping overhand right but Wood ducks down to avoid it.
Snowdon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Snowdon definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Wood scores with a body shot.
Wood looks to throw the jab but Snowdon is out of range.
Wood misses with a body shot.
Wood throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like William Snowdon has been cut.
Wood scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


Snowdon is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Snowdon swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Wood.
Snowdon connects with the punch.

Snowdon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Wood tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Snowdon is in Wood's guard.

Snowdon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Snowdon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wood is keeping the position for now.

Snowdon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Snowdon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Wood told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Wood wants to stand and escape but Snowdon is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wood is looking to get back to full guard here but Snowdon has managed to pass to side control instead.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Snowdon tries for a kimura but Wood is defending well.
Snowdon wants to control but Wood is keeping him busy.
Snowdon is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Wood is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
You can see the frustration on Wood's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Wood is trying to improve his position.

Snowdon is trying to get an arm triangle but Wood is defending well.
Snowdon in side control, just content to control the action for now.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Snowdon goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Wood has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Snowdon but great work by Wood.
Snowdon is looking for a sweep.
Wood trying to control the action but Snowdon is working from the bottom.
Snowdon manages to work his way to half guard, despite Wood's best efforts.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wood tries to stand and escape but Snowdon is controlling the position.

Wood is controlling the pace.

Snowdon is trying to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that William Snowdon will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on William Snowdon's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Snowdon uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wood.
Snowdon lands a glancing blow to the side of Wood's head.
Wood throws a series of punches but Snowdon moves out of range.
Snowdon throwing a counter right hand but Wood manages to avoid it.
Snowdon on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Snowdon throws a leg kick that misses.
Wood stuffs the takedown attempt from Snowdon. Snowdon gets slowly back to his feet.
Snowdon slips a jab and a cross from Wood.
Wood throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Wood misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Snowdon drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wood prevents Snowdon from moving into mount.

Snowdon is trying to get an arm triangle but Wood is defending well.

Snowdon tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Snowdon taking a break here but Wood is having none of it and regains half guard.

William Snowdon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Snowdon passes to full mount!

Snowdon looking for a guillotine from mount but Wood is having none of it.
Snowdon moves to back control.

Snowdon is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Wood has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Snowdon has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Wood taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Snowdon doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). William Snowdon!
