Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between William Barker (ranked 3774 p4p, 0 weight class) and Syco Souirrel (ranked 2519 p4p, 0 weight class). Souirrel has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Barker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Syco Souirrel! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Anthony Taglia and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barker rushes Souirrel and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Barker has had enough of the clinch but Souirrel keeps him there for the moment. Barker wants to break the clinch but can't.
A frustrated look appears on Barker's face as he tries to break the clinch. Souirrel prevents Barker from breaking the clinch. Souirrel is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Barker to keep the fight standing. Barker is trying to break free. Souirrel tries to score a body lock takedown but Barker shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Souirrel looks winded! Barker is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Barker is defending well against a takedown attempt. William Barker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Syco Souirrel. Souirrel fails to pull guard.
Barker wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Souirrel has him pressed against the cage. Barker stops a takedown attempt from Souirrel.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barker is trying to break the clinch but Souirrel is controlling him. Souirrel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Barker breaks the clinch.
Barker doesn't manage to clinch there - Souirrel circles away.
Barker throws a right hand that Souirrel ducks under and follows up with a left that Souirrel also avoids with ease. Souirrel changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Barker scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barker wants to clinch. Barker throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Souirrel.
Souirrel is rocked! Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Barker moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Souirrel! Barker continues to tee off on Souirrel, landing with a left and a right! Barker connects with a right hand that leaves Souirrel sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Barker!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). William Barker!
