Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Krashenko (ranked 2826 p4p, 359 weight class) and Derrick Lewis (ranked 1407 p4p, 206 weight class). Krashenko comes into the arena with Polyushka Polye blaring out of the sound system. Derrick Lewis is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vladimir Krashenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Derrick Lewis! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lewis looks to land a right hand but Krashenko moved out of range. Krashenko appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Lewis looking to land some kicks to the body here.
It looked like Krashenko was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Krashenko on the wrong end of a nice jab. Krashenko tries to land a front kick but Lewis steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Lewis takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Lewis throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Krashenko displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lewis throws out the jab. Krashenko throws a nice looking combination but Lewis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Lewis throws a push kick but Krashenko slaps the foot to one side. A quick step to the side and Krashenko tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lewis steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Krashenko. That one must have hurt. Lewis scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Sloppy strikes from Lewis. Those never looked like landing. Krashenko throws a head kick that misses. Krashenko looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Krashenko. Lewis shrugs it off though. Krashenko thows a body kick. Lewis tries to catch it but that hurt him. Lewis throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Krashenko misses with an uppercut. Lewis saw that one coming. Krashenko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Lewis. Krashenko tries to buck Lewis off but Lewis is having none of it. Lewis looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Krashenko is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Krashenko prevents Lewis from moving into mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lewis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Krashenko is looking for a sweep. Krashenko manages to get back to half guard. Krashenko looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lewis is working for a submission of some sort.
Lewis is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Lewis is looking to take a break and control but Krashenko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lewis works his way into side control. Lewis is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Krashenko knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Lewis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Krashenko, who protects the arm well. Krashenko bucks up and tries to throw Lewis off but instead Lewis has got his back! Krashenko is trying to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Krashenko fending off the submission attempt from Lewis. Krashenko is trying to get back to his feet but Lewis has full control of the position and if anything, Krashenko has just worked his way into a worse spot. Lewis doesn't have the hooks in and Krashenko manages to turn into his guard.
Krashenko trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Lewis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Krashenko is aware though and is defending well. Lewis has a closed guard, preventing Krashenko from standing up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Krashenko tries to free his leg and advance position but Lewis is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Derrick Lewis will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Lewis stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Krashenko. Krashenko ducks under a wild hook from Lewis. Krashenko needs to keep his hands up - Lewis had a free shot at his head there. Lewis lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Lewis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lewis thows a leg kick but Krashenko checks it and Krashenko counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Derrick Lewis has been cut. Lewis looks to land a left hand but Krashenko moved out of range nicely. Krashenko thinks about countering with a body kick. Krashenko walks into a stiff left hand from Lewis. Krashenko throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Lewis looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lewis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lewis lands in his opponent's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Krashenko has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lewis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lewis has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lewis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Krashenko's guard. Lewis is looking for a kimura but Krashenko is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lewis to get the leverage. Lewis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Krashenko is just riding it out for now. Lewis eventually gives up the hold. Krashenko looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Krashenko actively working from the bottom here. Krashenko looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lewis seems to be looking for submissions.

Krashenko is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lewis pulls his head out easily. Lewis trying to control from half guard but Krashenko is working away. Lewis is working for a kimura but Krashenko is defending it quite comfortably.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Krashenko looking for submissions off his back. Krashenko makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Krashenko. Lewis's corner is telling him to maintain position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lewis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Krashenko has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lewis has managed to get both his arms back between Krashenko's legs - danger averted. Krashenko can't keep his opponent in guard - Lewis advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Krashenko looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derrick Lewis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Derrick Lewis's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Some wild striking there from Krashenko.
Lewis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Krashenko moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Krashenko throws a low kick but Lewis moves out of range easily. The fighters circling - Krashenko throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Derrick Lewis seems to be getting the better of the standup. Krashenko walks into a jab. Lewis fails to land with a series of punches.
Vladimir Krashenko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Krashenko bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Krashenko throws a half hearted mid kick. Lewis throws a quick inside leg kick. Derrick Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lewis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lewis lands in his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lewis distracts Krashenko with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Krashenko working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lewis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lewis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Lewis has gone for a leg lock! Krashenko slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lewis's guard.
Lewis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Krashenko works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Krashenko working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Lewis's thigh. Lewis counters though and makes it back to full guard. Lewis looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lewis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Krashenko manages to get himself to full guard.
My spies in London's Elite Grappler's PLUS inform me that Lewis has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Krashenko looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Lewis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lewis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Lewis looking to pass the guard.

Derrick Lewis is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Krashenko is pushing Lewis's head away, looking to escape. Lewis manages to hold on to the position though. Vladimir Krashenko has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. A lull in the action here as Lewis stalls from top position. Krashenko is trying to improve his position. Krashenko wants to get back to his feet. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Krashenko is letting Lewis control him for a moment. Krashenko wants to get back to his feet but Lewis drags him back down.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Derrick Lewis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Lewis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
