Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yayi Zinsou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Tua!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zinsou rushes Tua and presses him up against the ropes.
Tua throws a punch but it's blocked by Zinsou.
Tua lands a right hand.
Tua looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Zinsou lands an uppercut.

Zinsou breaks the clinch.
Tua walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Zinsou. Tua does a little dance to reset his feet.
A shot to the body from Zinsou misses
and Tua counters with a stiff right hand.


It looks like Yayi Zinsou has been cut.

Zinsou has managed to clinch.
Zinsou lands a nice uppercut.
Tua misses with a hook to the ribs.
Tua doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Zinsou escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A big right from Tua misses.
Zinsou moves out of range of the strikes.
A lazy left from Zinsou finds it's target.
Tua misses with a double jab.
Danga de danga de dang - Tua scores with a four punch combination!
Zinsou definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Tua rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Zinsou counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Zinsou fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Tua scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Tua misses with a looping right.
Yayi Zinsou seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zinsou throws a body punch but Tua moves out of range.
Tua wants to counter with a clinch but Zinsou pushes him away.

Zinsou moves into range and clinches up with Tua.
Tua tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
A short right from Tua.

Zinsou breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Zinsou throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Tua tries to clinch up.
Tua avoids the body shot from Zinsou.
Zinsou connects with a nice looking jab.
Tua throws a body punch but Zinsou moves out of range.
Tua swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Zinsou cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Zinsou lands with an uppercut that bounces Tua off the ropes and back into range.
Zinsou is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Zinsou throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Zinsou has Tua up against the ropes in a clinch.
Zinsou lands a right hand that snaps the head of Tua backwards.

Zinsou pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Zinsou lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Tua misses the shot to the body.
Zinsou throws a shot to the body.

Zinsou instigates a clinch.
The referee calls for Zinsou to work.
Tua misses with a punch on the inside.
Tua misses with a short punch on the inside.

Zinsou breaks the clinch.

Zinsou gets a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Zinsou blocks an uppercut.
Zinsou is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Zinsou keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Tua's efforts to push away.
A right hook to the body lands for Tua.

Zinsou escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Zinsou is looking to wear down Tua with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Tua swings away with a body shot that misses
and Zinsou counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Zinsou walks into a big right hand from Tua and goes down! The referee sends Tua to a neutral corner as Zinsou gets back to his feet. He looks OK so we're back under way.
Tua throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Zinsou counters with a lovely straight right hand!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zinsou lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Zinsou walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Zinsou is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). David Tua!
