Peterson has chosen Amon Amarth - Guardians of Asgaard as his entrance music. Gregory Peterson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danga de danga de dang - Peterson scores with a four punch combination!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Peterson.
Bateman feinted with a counter takedown.

Bateman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Peterson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bateman fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Bateman tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Peterson is looking for a sweep.
Bateman is looking to take a break and control but Peterson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Peterson is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Bateman in side control lands a decent elbow.

Peterson wants to control but Bateman postures up.
Peterson tries to buck Bateman off but Bateman is having none of it.
Bateman is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Peterson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Bateman remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

We've been hearing good reports from Bateman's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Bateman postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Peterson in real trouble here! The ref calls for Peterson to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
