Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Cole (ranked 4791 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Lewis (ranked 5803 p4p, 0 weight class). Michael Lewis has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Adam Cole's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Adam Cole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Michael Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cole is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Cole moves into the clinch successfully.

Lewis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lewis throws a push kick but Cole slaps the foot to one side.
Cole scores with a three punch combo!


It looks like Michael Lewis has been cut.
Cole connects with a body shot that sends Lewis's belly button to the back.
Cole rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lewis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Lewis clinches up with Cole and pushes him back against the cage.

Cole has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lewis uses from the top position.
Lewis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cole had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lewis defends it easily.

Cole working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lewis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lewis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Cole throws a nice looking combination but Lewis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Cole shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lewis as he jumps to the side.

Lewis looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

Lewis tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cole defends well and Lewis ends up having to push Cole into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It looked like Cole was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Cole throws a big counter combination but Lewis scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Adam Cole is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cole lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Cole shoots in looking for a takedown. Lewis tries to sprawl out of it but Cole keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lewis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

As Cole backs off Lewis throws a huge counter combo but Cole manages to avoid it all.
Cole feints a jab promting Lewis to slip. Cole then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Lewis slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Cole scores with a hook to the body. Lewis takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Cole closes the distance and clinches up with Lewis, looking for a takedown. Cole pushes Lewis against the cage but Lewis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cole digs a right hand into Lewis's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Lewis's gas tank.

Lewis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lewis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lewis can do anything to dispel that myth.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lewis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cole controls the pace.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Lewis is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cole, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
