Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Camron Jones (ranked 4673 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mateus Hugo (ranked 5898 p4p, 0 weight class). Mateus Hugo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hugo drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jones holds on and takes a little breather.

Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hugo defends well.
Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hugo's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hugo can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Hugo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones wants to stand and escape but instead Hugo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hugo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hugo tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.

Jones pulls Hugo in to control the position.
Hugo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Hugo wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Hugo passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Jones prevents Hugo from improving position.
Hugo lands an elbow.
Jones stops Hugo from passing to mount.
Jones is trying to control Hugo's posture but Hugo avoids it.
Hugo lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jones down.

Hugo grinds an elbow into Jones's temple.
Jones regains half guard there - taking advantage of Hugo's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Hugo looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hugo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hugo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The referee warns Jones that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Jones is looking to improve his position but Hugo isn't that keen on the idea.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Hugo punishing his opponent with strikes.
Hugo connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Hugo lands a big shot there that rocks Jones but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Hugo lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jones hang on?
Hugo cracks Jones with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Jones is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones is in a horrible position here. Hugo smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Jones takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Hugo's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

A very excited looking Mateus Hugo made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
