Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnathon Ray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Toby TShwiz!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from TShwiz misses.
Ray is looking to counter punch.
Ray looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Ray throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
TShwiz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ray is fending him off so far but TShwiz persists. Nope, Ray circles away and we're back to standing.
TShwiz takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Ray slaps away a takedown attempt from TShwiz, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Johnathon Ray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ray moves out of range of the leg kick from TShwiz.
Ray tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but TShwiz was well out of range. Poor timing from Ray.
Ray fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. TShwiz looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Jab by Ray.
Ray lands a really nice looking cross but TShwiz seems unphased.
Ray misses with a series of wild punches.
Nice uppercut there from Ray.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ray lands a left and a right that send TShwiz crashing to the mat, dazed. Ray thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Ray cracks TShwiz with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! TShwiz looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Ray finish him?
TShwiz is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
TShwiz blocks a head kick by Ray.
TShwiz is still on wobbly legs! Can Ray finish him?
TShwiz shoots in and drives through. Ray sprawls well.
Johnathon Ray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Toby TShwiz.
Ray cracks TShwiz with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends TShwiz tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Ray pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! TShwiz is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnathon Ray!
