Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edward Conan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Evgeny Popov! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Popov shoots in but no luck this time. Conan moves into range and connects with a jab. Popov is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Conan's half guard. Conan is defending against the submission attempts here by Popov.
Popov is controlling the pace.
Popov trying to control from Conan's half guard. Conan has other ideas though and has regained full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Popov scoring with punches to the head and body. Conan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Popov's guard. Popov is trying to control the position but Conan postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Conan stands up over Popov, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Conan chips away with some ground and pound. Popov is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Conan trying to control the position from guard on top but Popov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Popov keeping full guard, as Conan tries to pass. Conan slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Popov. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Conan keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Popov punching from the bottom.
Conan is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Well, if Conan is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Conan is nestled in close to Popov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Conan wants to control but Popov is keeping him busy. Conan is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Popov wants to control but Conan is keeping busy.
Conan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Popov wants to get back to his feet. Popov is looking to get back to full guard here but Conan has managed to pass to side control instead. Popov on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Popov tries to bench press Conan off him but Conan keeps the position. Conan has knee on belly and moves into mount. Conan lands a heavy elbow. Conan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Conan has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Popov's face.

Edward Conan dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Popov with a poor takedown and Popov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Conan ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Conan scores with a jab. Conan feints with a jab and clips Popov right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Popov is sent crashing into the canvas and Conan leaps in for the kill! Popov tries to get to his feet but Conan is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Popov is in need of a savior and steps in!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Edward Conan!
