Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Dempsey (ranked 4616 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Smith (ranked 5813 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dempsey thuds a left hand into Smith's body.
Dempsey lands a jab.
Dempsey throws a nice looking combination but Smith bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Smith feints the counter takedown.
Dempsey misses with a straight left.
Dempsey lands a nice shot to the body.
Dempsey displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

and Smith counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Smith won't allow Dempsey to get back to his feet.

Smith thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dempsey wants to get back to his feet but Smith is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dempsey can't keep his opponent in guard - Smith advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Dempsey is not content to let Smith control the position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Smith lands a nice short elbow.

Smith seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Dempsey is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
