Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shen Po (ranked 2949 p4p, 338 weight class) and Aylin Shah (ranked 3823 p4p, 396 weight class). Po comes to the cage accompanied by Ei-tetsu Hayashi & 木下伸市. Shen Po has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shen Po! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Aylin Shah! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Po tests Shah's chin there with a solid looking shot. Po throws a head kick that misses. Po uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shah.
Po lands with a good body shot. Shah avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Some wild striking there from Shah.
Po misses with a body shot.
Shah lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Po circles away quickly and effectively. Po scores with the left hand. Shah knows he should have avoided that one. Po stuns Shah with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Shah swings for the body but Po moves out of range.
Shah takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Po doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Shah will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Po throws a good cross that connects.

That's one minute gone in the round. Shah lands a jab to Po's midsection. Shah misses with a low kick. Po has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Shah. Po misses the body punch so Shah counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Shah throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Po can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Shah controls the pace. Po manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Shah manages to get himself to full guard.
Po pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Shah is keeping the position for now. Po controls from within his opponent's guard. Po wants to pass the guard but Shah is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shah isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Po stacks Shah on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Po! Shah is trying to improve his position. Shah wants to control but Po postures up. Shah regains half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Po is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shah is just riding it out for now. Po eventually gives up the hold. Po controlling the action here. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Po seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shah does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Po works his foot free and advances to mount. Shah tries to reverse the position but Po maintains control. Shah is squirming around, avoiding Po's attempts to control the action. Po fails to advance to Shah's back. Po controlling the position easily from mount. Shah working to try and regain half guard.
Shah stops Po from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Shah keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Shah sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Shah is looking for a sweep. Po is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Shah has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Po is working away from the top position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Po is looking for a kimura but Shah is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Po to get the leverage. Po trying to control the pace. Po frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Po is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Shah can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Shah is trying to escape the mount.
Po wants to take Shah's back here but Shah is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Po sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Shah is squirming around, avoiding Po's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shen Po dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
A head kick misses from Shah. Shah has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Po finds it's way round the side to connect with Shah's head. Shah will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Po is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Shah can do to turn this around? Po instigates a clinch. Po blocks a body shot from Shah. Shah goes for a takedown in the clinch but Po prevents it.
Nice body punch from Po. Po breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shah swinging wildly here.
Shah slips under a jab from Po. Shah feints the counter takedown. Po loads up on a big right hand but Shah slips the punch. Shah slips a jab from Po. Shah's coach down at The Forge was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Shah's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Po fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shah manages to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. A swing and a miss from Po. Shah misses with a jab, cross combination.
Po missing with a left hand there. Shah was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Shah throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Po changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Shah keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Po throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Po punishes Shah's body with a nice straight punch. Po works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Shah swinging wildly here.
Po throws a lazy uppercut
and Shah counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Po! Shah trying to control the position but Po is working away. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Po gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Po looking for submissions off his back. Po trying to control but Shah postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Po is trying to get back to full guard. Shah seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Po does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Shah tries to pass the half guard into mount. Po knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Po is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Po actively working from the bottom here. Po is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Shah's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Shah's back! Shen Po overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Po keeps control of the position as Shah tries to break free.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Po controlling the positon.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shah staying busy and making it hard for Po to control. Shah fending off the submission attempt from Po. Po working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Shah manages to reverse the position and now he's in Po's guard. Nice work there by Shah.
Po tries to land a sweep but no joy. Shah wants to control from the top but Po keeps moving. Shah looking to pass the guard. Po working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shah doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shah manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Po is controlling Shah's posture. Shah avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Po keeping full guard, as Shah tries to pass. Po is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Shah rolls with it to try and escape but Po cranks on the arm and Shah is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
