The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shipilov takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Shipilov steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Muhapuro.
Shipilov sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Muhapuro throws a hook but Shipilov blocks it.
Muhapuro scores with a nice strike.
Shipilov scores with a kick to the body.
Muhapuro moves out of range as Shipilov strikes.
Shipilov uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Muhapuro.
Muhapuro explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Shipilov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Muhapuro.
Muhapuro scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Muhapuro tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shipilov was well out of range. Poor timing from Muhapuro.
Shipilov throws a head kick that misses.
Muhapuro lands with a kick to the ribs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Muhapuro misses with an uppercut.
Shipilov pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Shipilov scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Muhapuro is looking to clinch.
Muhapuro ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Muhapuro slips under a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Muhapuro misses with a kick to the body.
Muhapuro thuds his right hand into Shipilov's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Shipilov lands a big head kick that sends Muhapuro tumbling to the mat! Shipilov takes a step backwards and waves Muhapuro back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Muhapuro is rocked!
It looks like Paul Muhapuro has been cut.
Muhapuro tests Shipilov's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Muhapuro is still on wobbly legs! Can Shipilov finish him?
Muhapuro doesn't manage to clinch there - Shipilov circles away.
Shipilov thinks about countering with a head kick.
Muhapuro seems to have recovered his senses.
Shipilov steps in with a hook that catches Muhapuro right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Shipilov follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Muhapuro looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sergey Shipilov!
A relieved looking Sergey Shipilov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
