Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Bender Mein Armbach! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Milo Vicente! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jab, jab by Vicente - just one landing. Vicente darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Vicente looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Vicente moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Mein Armbach fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Vicente looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. We've been hearing reports that Mein Armbach has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Vicente tries to bum rush Mein Armbach with a series of wild strikes but Mein Armbach uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Mein Armbach rushes Vicente and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Vicente tries a knee to the head but Mein Armbach blocks it.
Mein Armbach jumps guard.
Mein Armbach is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. This has been an exciting period of action! Mein Armbach is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Vicente defends well. Mein Armbach has a closed guard, preventing Vicente from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vicente avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Mein Armbach has his foot on Vicente's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vicente works his way back into a safe position though. Vicente wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Mein Armbach's closed guard. He's half up but Mein Armbach has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Mein Armbach pivots and extends the arm, Vicente falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Mein Armbach! Well done that man!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Bender Mein Armbach! Our winner, Bender Mein Armbach, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
