The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manley fails with an attempt to clinch.
Manley shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Punchy pinned against the cage. Punchy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Manley tries to clinch there but Punchy circles away.
Punchy shoots in looking for a takedown. Manley tries to sprawl out of it but Punchy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Manley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Manley avoids the head kick by Punchy.

Manley closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Manley lands in his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Manley wants to pass the guard but Punchy is keeping the position.
Punchy wants to improve his position but instead Manley has moved into half guard.
