Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chase Fuchs (ranked 4135 p4p, 370 weight class) and Ryan Mcarthy (ranked 2415 p4p, 254 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fuchs moves into the clinch successfully.
Mcarthy's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Mcarthy lands with a right to the head.

Fuchs breaks from the clinch.
Mcarthy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fuchs paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mcarthy fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mcarthy throws a head kick but Fuchs moves out of range.

Fuchs drives through and clinches with Mcarthy against the cage.

Fuchs escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mcarthy lands with a hook. Fuchs tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Fuchs throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mcarthy.

Fuchs gets a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fuchs gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fuchs wants to pass to mount but Mcarthy is defending the position.
Fuchs passes the guard and advances to mount!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fuchs lands a nice shot to the head.
Fuchs lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Mcarthy is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Fuchs lands a big shot there that rocks Mcarthy but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Fuchs is landing with some decent strikes but Mcarthy is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Fuchs has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mcarthy's face.
This has been an exciting period of action!
