The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vettori throws the left hand but Trotter avoids the punch easily.
Trotter tries to close the distance and clinch but Vettori swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Vettori has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Trotter is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Trotter lands with a shot to the body.
A head kick misses from Vettori.
Vettori swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

The fighters circling - Vettori throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Trotter throws a big shot that misses.
Vettori tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Good leg kick by Vettori there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Vettori scores with a hook.
Trotter fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Vettori on the side of the head.
Vettori thows a left - swing and a miss!
Trotter fails with the takedown.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vettori slips a straight right by Trotter.
Vettori jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Trotter avoids a kick to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Trotter decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Vettori is pressing down on Trotter's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Trotter drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Vettori dives on top into guard.

Trotter is looking for a triangle but Vettori pushes his legs off easily.

Vettori lying in Trotter's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Trotter decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Vettori taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
