Pierce throws a few rabbit punches from the bottom. Spleeth was waiting for it though - now Pierce's arm is in the perfect position for an arm triangle - he's tightening it up and Pierce is forced to tap out before he takes a nap! Very clever counter grappling there from Spleeth!

Spleeth has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sumerod is working away from the top position though.
Sumerod takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Spleeth is trying to get back to full guard.
Sumerod misses with a head shot. Spleeth uses the momentum to regain guard.

Spleeth's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Sumerod is holding on here and Spleeth must be using up a lot of energy. Sumerod has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Spleeth gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Steiner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Spleeth manages to avoid it.
Spleeth drops his hands momentarily and Steiner takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. #TD#
Spleeth shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Steiner's guard.
Steiner wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Spleeth manages to pass to side control. #REVB#
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
