A big left from Parparyan misses. Tolonen lands a leg kick that knocks Parparyan off balance momentarily. Parparyan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Emelianenko tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tolonen defends well and Emelianenko ends up having to push Tolonen into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Emelianenko shoots in looking for a takedown but Tolonen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Emelianenko's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Elpidio lands with an uppercut that bounces Tolonen off the cage and back into range. Tolonen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Elpidio looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. A combination from Elpidio does no damage. Tolonen quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Tolonen throws out a powerful jab. Elpidio moves away from the strike by Tolonen. Sloppy strikes from Tolonen. Those never looked like landing. Tolonen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Tolonen takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Elpidio slips under a jab. A jab from Elpidio misses. Elpidio checks a leg kick nicely. Elpidio throws a series of punches but Tolonen avoids them all with ease. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Elpidio throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Tolonen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Nice body kick from Tolonen. Elpidio blocks a head kick by Tolonen.

#R1# Struja wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Matti Tolonen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Struja getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Struja wants to clinch up but Tolonen keeps it at a distance. Struja avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Tolonen throws a sloppy head kick and Struja moves out of range easily. Struja takes one on the button. Struja tries to bum rush Tolonen with a series of wild strikes but Tolonen uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Tolonen takes a jab right on the kisser.
Struja has a takedown stuffed.#TD# Excellent takedown into side control there by Struja. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Check out the look on Struja's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
