Koch will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.#REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Erling Koch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Koch throws out a loose jab but Aldridge uses good head movement to avoid it. Koch throws a hook to the side of Aldridge's head but Aldridge sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Aldridge throws a lazy head kick and Aldridge takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Aldridge throws a right and a left that Koch avoids nicely. Koch stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Aldridge. A big right from Koch misses. No joy there for Koch, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Good work by Koch as he checks the leg kick. Aldridge throws a head kick that misses. Aldridge on the wrong end of a nice jab. Aldridge lands with a thumping leg kick.
Aldridge tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Koch thows a left - swing and a miss! Aldridge blocks a jab. Koch throws the left hand but Aldridge avoids the punch easily. Aldridge throws a sloppy head kick and Koch moves out of range easily. #T1# Koch chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Aldridge can pounce on him.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Aldridge has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Aldridge misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Smith goes for a double leg but Koch avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Koch continues to drive forward. Smith walks into a straight right hand from Koch. Koch misses with a hook. Smith ducked under it nicely. Smith was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.#CL# Smith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Koch, pushing him back against the cage. Koch is looking to control Smith's arms but Smith gets an underhook and turns him. Now Koch has his back to the cage. A nice right hand lands inside from Smith. Smith lands a shoulder strike. Smith has Koch pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Koch manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. #BC# Smith manages to break the clinch.

A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Koch throwing a counter right hand but Cage manages to avoid it.#KD2# Cage lands a big right hand that sends Koch crashing to the mat! Cage stays standing though and waves Koch back to his feet!#ROC2# Koch is rocked!#CUT2# It looks like Erling Koch has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A punch combination from Cage misses. Oh Koch is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Bombs throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Koch blocks it with crossed arms. Koch misses with a hook to the ribs.

He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Koch is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pulis. Koch misses the jab. Pulis appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Koch's coach down at CT + BJJ & Wrestling & Boxing & MT SPARRING GYM was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Koch's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Pulis cracks Koch on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Koch falls backwards against the cage. Pulis follows up with more strikes that drop Koch to his knees. Pulis keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Koch! This one is all over!
