#R1# Williams scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Williams fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Yakovenko lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Joe Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Williams scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Yakovenko ducks right into an uppercut from Williams. Williams scores with a nice right hand.
Williams lands a two punch combo.
Williams feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Yakovenkos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Yakovenko looks winded! This has been an exciting period of action! Williams connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Yakovenko is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Williams scores with a one two! Yakovenko had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. #ROC# Yakovenko is rocked! Williams shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yakovenko as he jumps to the side. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Yakovenko! But no joy. Yakovenko takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.#T1# Yakovenko looks to throw a body kick and Williams counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Yakovenko thinking. Yakovenko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
An attempted straight right counter from Williams misses the target. Williams connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Yakovenko tumbling to the canvas! Williams pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Yakovenko was done - good stoppage!
