#R1# Adams closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cardona circles away. Adams shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cardona pinned against the cage. Cardona gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Adams shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cardona defends it nicely. Matt Cardona has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Adams. Cardona shoots in for a takedown but Adams shows good takedown defense. Horrible takedown attempt by Adams or perhaps it was just good defense by Cardona, which made it look bad. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cardona closes the distance and clinches up with Adams, looking for a takedown. Cardona pushes Adams against the cage but Adams circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Cardona has a takedown stuffed. Horrible takedown attempt by Cardona or perhaps it was just good defense by Adams, which made it look bad. #T1# Adams fails with a takedown attempt. Cardona is trying hard to land a takedown here. Adams sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. #CL2# Adams has taken the fight to the clinch.
Adams wants to get back to striking at distance but Cardona won't allow it.
Cardona tries to score a body lock takedown but Adams shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Adams wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Cardona goes for a takedown attempt but Adams pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Cardona leaves Adams with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Cardona blocks a head kick by Adams.
#T2# Cardona tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Adams defends well and Cardona ends up having to push Adams into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Adams has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.#TD# Cardona shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. #SUB# Cardona drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Cardona seems to have locked his on tight now - Adams screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Cardona, as he picks up the win!

#R1##TD# Cardona bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Nathan is not content to let Cardona control the position. #SUB# Cardona goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Nathan rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Cardona's guard! Nice work there by Nathan! #SUB# Cardona throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Nathan escapes and throws Cardona's legs to the side, diving into side control! Nathan working the body and head with strikes. You can see the frustration on Cardona's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Cardona takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Cardona is looking for a sweep. Nathan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Nathan wants to stand but Cardona is controlling his arm. Cardona tries to bench press Nathan off him but Nathan keeps the position. Cardona on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cardona tries to get out of the position. Nathan tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. #T1# Cardona tries to improve position but can't. Nathan advances nicely into full mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cardona is squirming around, avoiding Nathan's attempts to control the action. Cardona can't escape the position.
#SUB2# Nathan is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Cardona to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Cardona shrugs it off. Cardona taking shots to the head. Cardona tries to hold on but Nathan postures up. Nathan is landing with some decent strikes but Cardona is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Cardona tries to improve his position but instead Nathan has taken his back! #SUB2# Nathan working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Cardona trying to control the position but Nathan manages to sink in the hooks. #T2# Cardona is really stuck here.
Cardona manages to reverse the position and now he's in Nathan's guard. Nice work there by Cardona.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Nathan working a defensive guard here.

Is it all over??? No! Nathan has escaped and now he's on top! #REVB# The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.#SUB# Nathan has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Cardona to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Nathan is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Cardona pulls down on the head and he's put Nathan to sleep! This one is all over!
