#R1# Ilic tries for a takedown but Vermeulen circles away easily and Vermeulen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.#CUT2# It looks like Aleksandar Ilic has been cut. Vermeulen throws a right hand that Ilic ducks under and follows up with a left that Ilic also avoids with ease. Vermeulen throws a right hand that Ilic ducks under and follows up with a left that Ilic also avoids with ease. Vermeulen stuffs the takedown. Vermeulen looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Ilic tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vermeulen paws at him with a jab and circles away. Vermeulen lands a jab-cross combination. Ilic changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vermeulen tries to avoid it but Ilic manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vermeulen to the ground. Vermeulen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Vermeulen lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aleksandar Ilic. That's going to take a lot out of him. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ilic. Ilic tries to clinch and Vermeulen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Vermeulen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ilic moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Vermeulen scores to the head and body with a nice combination!#T1# Ilic takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. #ROC2# Ilic is rocked! Hendrik Vermeulen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ilic is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vermeulen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Ilic showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Vermeulen.
Ilic is looking to counter the offense by Vermeulen and move into the clinch. Vermeulen circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Ilic to the canvas! Ilic doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Vermeulen keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

#R1# Johnson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. A big left from Johnson misses. Johnson lands a nice looking body shot.
#CL2# Ilic clinches with his opponent.
#TD2# Johnson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ilic is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Johnson to the mat. Johnson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Ilic engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. #SUB# Johnson is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Ilic frees his head nicely. Oh but Johnson has switched to an armbar! Ilic is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Nathan Johnson! After winning the bout, Nathan Johnson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
