Gracie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

Lewinson jabs Gracie right on the nose. Gracie blinks but takes it well.
Lewinson catches Gracie with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Gracie doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lewinson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Conrad Lewinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Gracie.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lewinson closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Gracie! Lewinson dives in looking to finish! Gracie is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Gracie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Huia avoids it really well and circles away.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Huia!
Gracie seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Huia shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Gracie is backing up but Huia catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Gracie covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Huia Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tai Huia!
