Mani utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Salazar throws a strike but Mani rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. #REVB# Salazar trying to control the position.
Salazar trying to control the position here. Mani slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SU2# Mani decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Simhadri Mani seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#T1# Mani displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Salazar. Mani throws a right and a left that both miss. As Mani looks to move away, Salazar throws a big counter combo but Mani just gets out of the way. Salazar tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mani paws at him with a jab and circles away. Abelarde pushes Salazar against the cage but Salazar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.#TD2# Abelarde shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Abelarde is thwarting Salazar's attempts to control the position. Abelarde wants to lay and pray for a moment but Salazar keeps working. Salazar is concentrating on defense, preventing Abelarde from advancing position. Abelarde lands strikes from half guard.#CUT2# It looks like Teddy Salazar has been cut. Salazar makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Salazar. Abelarde must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. #R1##KD2# Vodka lands a big right hand that sends Salazar crashing to the mat! Vodka stays standing though and waves Salazar back to his feet!#CUT2# It looks like Teddy Salazar has been cut. Vodka throws a head kick that misses. #CL2# Vodka clinches with his opponent.
Salazar is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.#BC2# Vodka pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Salazar really is a fat lump. Vodka smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. This has been an exciting period of action! Sloppy strikes from Vodka. Those never looked like landing. Vodka cracks Salazar's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Salazar slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Vodka can do further damage! This one is done, son!

He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. #ES# Salazar has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Leo is on him like a limpet, forcing Salazar back against the cage. Salazar slowing the pace effectively. Leo has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Salazar after a bit of a struggle. Leo is trying to pull guard but Salazar has him pressed against the cage. Leo tries for a takedown but Salazar manages to get underhooks.
Teddy Salazar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Leo. Leo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Salazar is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
