#R1# Black dives in for a single leg takedown but Overide sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Nice takedown defense from Overide. No joy for Black on that attempt. Overide cracks Black with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.#CUT# It looks like Klay Black has been cut. Black doesn't manage to clinch there - Overide circles away.
As Black tries to get set, Overide tries to push him back and clinch up but Black manages to avoid the attempt.#TD2# Black shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Overide is trying to defend but Black finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Black not landing any meaningful shots this time. Black is trying to control the action in half guard but Overide is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. #SUB2# Black is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Overide has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Black is working away from the top position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SUB2# Black is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Overide is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

#R1# Connor clobbers Black with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Black could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.#TD# Connor gets caught napping as Black dives in and scores a takedown. Connor manages to retain guard. Black looking to pass the guard. Black working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Connor's head. Black has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Black scoring with punches to the head and body. #SUB# Black is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Black stops Connor from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#ES2# The fighters are working up against the cage. Connor manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Black is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Connor has had enough of the clinch but Black keeps him there for the moment. Black tries to land knees in the clinch but Connor avoids the damage to the body. Connor working hard to break the clinch. Black looking for a takedown. Black tries for a takedown but Connor manages to get underhooks.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Connor swinging wildly here.
Black changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.#T1# Connor fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Black looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Connor stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Klay Black. That's going to take a lot out of him. Black tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Connor swivels and escapes. Connor has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Connor scores with the left hand. Black knows he should have avoided that one. Connor scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Black shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Connor counters with a right hand to the body. Black is breathing heavily. Connor scores with a shot to the body.
Black gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Connor. Connor displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Black misses with a takedown attempt and Connor counters with a left right combination that sends Black crashing to the mat - Connor wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Black out for a TKO! Devastating finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Connor! In his post fight interview, Dan Connor started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
