Smirnoff throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Von Manstein blocks it with crossed arms. Von Manstein is working for takedown but Smirnoff is calmly controlling the position for now. Smirnoff is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Von Manstein dodges an elbow strike from Smirnoff.
Smirnoff jumps guard but Von Manstein stands there with Smirnoff around his waist. Smirnoff gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Smirnoff throws a low kick but it's checked well by Von Manstein. As Smirnoff backs off Von Manstein throws a huge counter combo but Smirnoff manages to avoid it all. Vladimir Smirnoff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Von Manstein tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Smirnoff defends well and Von Manstein ends up having to push Smirnoff into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch. Vladimir Smirnoff is winning the standup battle so far. Smirnoff tries to clinch but Von Manstein is having none of it. Smirnoff throws a leg kick and Von Manstein counters with a solid body kick. Smirnoff throws a right and a left that Von Manstein avoids nicely. Smirnoff misses with a head kick.

This is the final round! #R5##TD2# A momentary lapse in concentration from Smirnoff enables Von Manstein to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Smirnoff manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Von Manstein with a flurry of punches that miss. Von Manstein controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Smirnoff is wriggling around but Von Manstein manages to pass to half guard.

I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Fritz Erich Von Manstein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Von Manstein stuffs the takedown attempt from Dickson. Dickson gets slowly back to his feet. #TD# Dickson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. #R1# Klokov thuds a left hand into Von Manstein's body. Von Manstein throws a wild body kick that Klokov sees coming a mile off. Klokov lands with a nice body punch. Klokov connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Von Manstein moves forwards but Klokov connects with a nice, crisp jab. Klokov connects with a body shot that sends Von Manstein's belly button to the back. Von Manstein is breathing heavily. Klokov shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Von Manstein eats them both and turns towards Klokov to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.#CUT2# It looks like Fritz Erich Von Manstein has been cut. Klokov jabs Von Manstein to the body, keeping him at a distance. Von Manstein finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Klokov's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Von Manstein falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
