#R1# McClelan tries to clinch #TD# and Mack counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Mack forces his way into half guard. McClelan is not content to let Mack control the position. Mack is thwarting McClelan's attempts to control the position. Mack passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for McClelan! Mack is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. McClelan can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
McClelan told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mack breaks from McClelan's wrist control and lands an elbow. #SUB# Mack jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… McClelan is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by McClelan and Mack has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
McClelan sneaks back into half guard.#T1# Mack is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Mack lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. McClelan is refusing to be controlled, as Mack sits in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mack looks to score some points with some ground and pound. McClelan is trying to stand back up but Mack is controlling him
McClelan is trying to maintain the position but Mack is very close to passing his half guard.#SUB# McClelan is defending against the submission attempts here by Mack.
Mack stops McClelan from getting back to his feet.
