Fortin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cena's waist but Cena gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fortin off to one side.
Cena attempts a counter takedown but Fortin avoids it well and moves away.
Nice sprawl there from Cena as Fortin shoots in.
A shot to the body from Cena misses
and Fortin counters with a three punch combo that has Cena backing up. Cena nods at Fortin to acknowledge the strikes.
Fortin moves in looking to clinch but Cena pushes him off.
Perry Fortin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Cena and the ref steps in to end the fight! Cena can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

After winning the bout, John Cena thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
