#R1# Figueroa lands a head shot.#TD2# Excellent takedown into side control there by Karppinen. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Karppinen is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Figueroa's shoulder. That is not cool. Karppinen tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Karppinen in side control, just content to control the action for now. #T1# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Figueroa parries the strikes from Karppinen easily there. Karppinen is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Figueroa to escape.
Karppinen gets to mount! Figueroa was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Karppinen sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Karppinen looking to ground and pound but Figueroa is blocking nicely. Figueroa blocking the ground and pound. Karppinen controlling the position easily from mount. #T2# Karppinen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Karppinen wants to control the pace but Figueroa is squirming around nicely. #SUB2# Karppinen swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Figueroa is now in Karppinen's guard. A big mistake from Karppinen there, giving up the dominant position! Karppinen trying to keep a closed guard but Figueroa is proving a slippery customer.
Figueroa throws a big elbow that misses. Figueroa has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.#T3# Karppinen has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Karppinen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Figueroa won't allow Karppinen to get back to his feet. Figueroa won't allow Karppinen to sweep him here. #T4# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.#SUB2# Figueroa stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Karppinen throws up his legs and catches Figueroa in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Figueroa tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Karppinen! That came out of nowhere!

#R1# Figueroa throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Piranha is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Piranha takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Piranha staying out of range there. Piranha is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Piranha looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Figueroa throws out a powerful jab. Figueroa misses with a looping right. Piranha with the counter takedown but Figueroa avoids it easily. Figueroa throws out a loose jab but Piranha uses good head movement to avoid it. Piranha feints the counter takedown. Figueroa tries to clinch but Piranha moves out of range. Figueroa throws out a token jab with nothing on it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Piranha looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Figueroa is fending him off so far but Piranha persists. Nope, Figueroa circles away and we're back to standing.#CL2# Piranha closes the distance and clinches. Piranha looking for a takedown. Piranha is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Figueroa gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Dane Figueroa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexandre Piranha.#T1##TD2# Piranha gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Figueroa regains guard.
Piranha works a leg free and moves into half guard. Piranha passes to full mount! You get the feeling that Figueroa really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Piranha thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Figueroa is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Piranha wants to take Figueroa's back but he can't do it this time. Piranha trying to control but Figueroa is having none of it. Piranha might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Figueroa haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.#T2# Figueroa throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Piranha tries to control but Figueroa wriggling away. Piranha takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
