Poirier throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Poirier fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.#CL2# Poirier takes the fight into the clinch. Holman is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Poirier to keep the fight standing. Holman comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Holman taking a breather. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. #TD2# Poirier ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Poirier no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Poirier has control of Holman's left arm, preventing Holman from doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs.
