We've been told by Pereira's head coaches at Five Round Fight Club NY (50 max) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Lewis is trying to drag Pereira to the mat but Pereira just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Lewis goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Shelby has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Lewis but great work by Shelby .

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Konichiwa Jempsa.

Lewis is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Carter to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Carter shrugs it off.

Carter is looking for the big counter here.
Carter looks to land a combination. Lewis sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Carter lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Lewis looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Carter scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Lewis shoots for a double leg takedown but Carter sprawls well. He's pushed Lewis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Lewis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

As Lewis backs off Carter throws a huge counter combo but Lewis manages to avoid it all.
