Harper shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kono's guard.
Kono wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Harper won't allow Kono to sweep him here.

Harper really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kono. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Harper is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Kono frees his head nicely. Oh but Harper has switched to an armbar! Kono is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Kono throws out a loose jab but O Brien uses good head movement to avoid it.

Kono drops down looking to force a counter takedown but O Brien defends it well.
Kono takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
O Brien has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kono finds it's way round the side to connect with O Brien's head.
Kono lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
We've been told by O Brien's head coaches at The House Of Pain that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Kono swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by O Brien.
O Brien tries to clinch but Kono moves out of range.
And Kono tries to counter it with a takedown but O Brien pushes his down on his head and steps out.
O Brien bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kono's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

O Brien creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Kono with a big uppercut! Kono tries to clinch up but O Brien pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Kono to the mat! Kono covers up and O Brien unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
