and Shamrock counters with a lovely shot to the body. Salva lands a nice looking body shot.
Shamrock throws a lazy uppercut
and Salva counters with a head kick. That will keep Shamrock thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! A big right from Salva misses. Shamrock throwing a counter right hand but Salva manages to avoid it. Salva looks to score with a jab to the body but Shamrock is just out of range. Shamrock waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Salva. Salva works Shamrock's body with a nice hook. Shamrock misses with a looping right. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A decent looking cross lands there for Salva. Shamrock takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Salva lands with a shot to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A head kick by Shamrock misses and Salva connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Salva ducks under a wild hook from Shamrock. Salva throws out a counter right but Shamrock avoids it with no problem. El Salva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.#T1# Shamrock on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Salva lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Salva bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A solid leg kick lands there for Salva.
Shamrock throws an off balance right hand
and Salva connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Salva ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shamrock moves away. Shamrock with a poor takedown and Salva counters with a straight right hand. Salva uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shamrock. Shamrock drops his hands momentarily and Salva takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Shamrock misses with a hook. Salva slips a jab from Shamrock. Shamrock takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Salva throws out a loose jab but Shamrock uses good head movement to avoid it. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Salva, as that shot connected.
Tim Shamrock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#T2# The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Salva connects with a solid leg kick. Salva stuns Shamrock with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Shamrock takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Salva looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Shamrock is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Salva fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Salva is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Shamrock had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Shamrock is looking to clinch but Salva is avoiding it.
Salva has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Salva drops Shamrock with a naaaaasty hook - Shamrock is in real trouble here! Salva dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Song. Shamrock does a little dance to reset his feet. Shamrock will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Shamrock slips a jab and a cross from Song.
Shamrock looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Song swings for the body but Shamrock moves out of range.
Shamrock closes the distance and lands a one-two. We've been told by Song's head coaches at Outlier Martial Arts that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Shamrock misses the shot to the body. Song looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Song connects with a looping right hand.
A looping hook to the body misses from Song. Shamrock does a little dance to reset his feet. Shamrock takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Song walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Shamrock throws a right and a left that Song avoids nicely. A punch combination from Song misses. Song keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Song throws a wild combination but nothing lands. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Shamrock! But no joy. Shamrock stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Song. Song fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Shamrock checks it well. Shamrock takes a shot right to the bread basket. Song fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Shamrock has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Shamrock misses with a lunging right hand
and Song makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Song darts in and out, connecting with a jab. #T2# This has been an exciting period of action! Shamrock looks to land a left hand but Song moved out of range nicely. As Shamrock backs away, Song returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Song has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Song there as he acknowledges the shot. Shamrock with a jab. Song swings away with a leg kick that misses. It seemed like Shamrock was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Song is looking to wear down Shamrock with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Song does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. #CL2# Shamrock moves into the clinch successfully.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leahy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shamrock avoids it really well and circles away. Leahy shoots in for a double leg but Shamrock sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. It seemed like Shamrock was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Shamrock listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Shamrock lands a nice looking body shot.
Leahy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Shamrock defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Leahy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
