Let's see what he can do from the top position. Cruz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Cruz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Cruz looking to sit in guard and control but Hubbard gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVR# Hubbard throws a big elbow that misses. Cruz is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hubbard dives into side control.

#R1# Cruz bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Mccullough's head. Cruz scores with a hook.#CL# Mccullough closes the distance and clinches. Cruz tries to break the clinch but Mccullough is controlling the position. With the fighters up against the cage, Mccullough throws an elbow but misses. #BC2# Cruz breaks the clinch.

Mccullough is defending well but Cruz drives through and ends up in Mccullough's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Cruz lands a couple of decent looking shots.#SUB# Mccullough had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cruz defends it easily. Mccullough could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Mccullough is working Cruz over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mccullough accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mccullough stops Cruz from standing up. Cruz working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mccullough. Mccullough wants to control from the top but Cruz keeps moving. Mccullough won't allow Cruz to get back to his feet. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Mccullough trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. #REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Cruz throws a series of punches but Mccullough avoids them all with ease. #T2# Cruz misses with a double jab.

He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books!
