#R1##TD# Vander Esch shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bredberg napping and manages to drive through into side control!#SUB# Vander Esch has hold of Bredberg's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Bredberg seems comfortable defending it but Vander Esch has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Bredberg is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Bredberg is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Vander Esch couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Bredberg tries to work over Romanov's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Romanov lands a damaging elbow. #CUT# It looks like Mikael Bredberg has been cut. Romanov blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Bredberg is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Romanov to keep the fight standing. Romanov lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Bredberg is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Romanov is defending well against a takedown attempt. Bredberg takes an elbow to the forehead. #CUT# That has opened up Mikael Bredberg's cut even more. Romanov lands a nice elbow from the clinch. #CUT# The cut above Mikael Bredberg's eye is starting to cause him problems now.#TD2# Bredberg gets control of Romanov's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bredberg will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Romanov stands up over Bredberg, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Romanov passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bredberg regains full guard. Nicely done. Romanov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. #R1# Bush throws a hook but Bredberg avoids it easily. The fighters circling - Bush throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Bredberg uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bush. Bredberg is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Bredberg closes the distance looking to clinch and Bush counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.#CUT# It looks like Mikael Bredberg has been cut. Bush feints with a jab and clips Bredberg right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Bredberg is sent crashing into the canvas and Bush leaps in for the kill! Bredberg tries to get to his feet but Bush is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Bredberg is in need of a savior and steps in!

#R1# Bredberg shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with MacCarthy but MacCarthy pushes him off and we're back to square one. Bredberg is looking to clinch. Bredberg shoots in and drives through. MacCarthy sprawls well. MacCarthy went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.#CL# MacCarthy gets in close and instigates a clinch. Bredberg is trying to break free. MacCarthy misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Bredberg.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Bredberg just misses with a elbow thrown towards MacCarthy's brow. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bredberg has had enough of the clinch but MacCarthy keeps him there for the moment.#TD# MacCarthy decides to pull guard. MacCarthy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if MacCarthy tries to get out of the position. Bredberg wants to stand but MacCarthy has a closed guard, so he can't escape. MacCarthy is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. #T1# MacCarthy's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Further stalling from MacCarthy. Bredberg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with MacCarthy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#REF3# The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.#T2# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. MacCarthy takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
#CL# MacCarthy gets a clinch. Bredberg lands an elbow inside that MacCarthy shrugs off. #TD# MacCarthy has Bredberg pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. MacCarthy pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bredberg tumbling to the mat - MacCarthy dives into Bredberg's guard. MacCarthy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bredberg wants to improve his position but instead MacCarthy has moved into half guard.

It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute MacCarthy jumps into side control! Bredberg is a painfully thin specimen of a man. Bredberg manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Bredberg is looking to sweep but instead, MacCarthy has passed into half guard.
Bredberg on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. MacCarthy lands with a punch from half guard. MacCarthy is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bredberg! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. MacCarthy punishing his opponent with strikes. Sean MacCarthy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.#SUB# Bredberg has left one of his arms exposed and MacCarthy doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Bredberg screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
