Let's see what he can do from the top position. Freibergs trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Freibergs content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Freibergs controlling from the top position. #SUB# Jookiba working for submissions but it's allowed Freibergs to get to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jookiba is refusing to be controlled, as Freibergs sits in half guard. #T1# Freibergs content to control rather than advance. Jookiba pushes Freibergs off looking to stand but Freibergs dives back in and keeps control.
Jookiba is staying active underneath Freibergs, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Jookiba really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Freibergs is thwarting Jookiba's attempts to control the position. Freibergs performing his best blanket impression for a moment. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Jookiba shoots in for a takedown but Freibergs shows good takedown defense. Freibergs looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Freibergs shoots for a takedown but Jookiba saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Freibergs passes Jookiba's left leg - he's now in half guard. Freibergs looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jookiba with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Freibergs wants to control but Jookiba is keeping him busy. Freibergs seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

That's better than Diamante was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Freibergs is not content to let Diamante control the position. Freibergs is trying to control Diamante's posture but Diamante avoids it. Freibergs manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Diamante gets full guard. Freibergs would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Freibergs won't allow Diamante to sweep him here. Freibergs wants to control from the top but Diamante keeps moving. #T1# Freibergs wants to get up but he can't break Diamante's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. #SUB2# Diamante had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Freibergs defends it easily.#SUB2# Diamante is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. #SUB2# Diamante is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Freibergs defends well. Diamante trying to control the position.

Freibergs could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Canada. Nice body punch from Canada. #TD2# Canada gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Freibergs wants to improve his position but Canada is controlling well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Canada seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. He's got his arms around Diego's waist but Diego gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Freibergs off to one side. Freibergs throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Freibergs looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Smoke lands with a cross. Smoke misses with a two punch combination.
And Freibergs tries to counter it with a takedown but Smoke pushes his down on his head and steps out.#CL# Smoke has taken the fight to the clinch.

Freibergs lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Ardin is pushing Freibergs up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Ardin is pressed up against the cage. Freibergs has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ardin down to the mat. Ardin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
