Gym misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Stevens cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.#ROC2#Gym is rocked!#CL2#
Stevens pushes Gym up against the cage in a clinch.
Oh Gym is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A short uppercut from Stevens.
Stevens is working Gym over against the cage.
Gym seems to have got his legs back now.
A right hook to the body lands for Stevens.
Gym's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stevens lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Gym could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Stevens lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Stevens lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Stevens throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Gym is breathing heavily.
Stevens scores with a shot to the side of Gym's head.

Stevens pushes Gym against the cage. Stevens is working some dirty boxing. Stevens pushes off with a quick right hook! Gym goes down! Gym tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Stevens moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Stevens!
Chris Stevens was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed. |

Gym misses with a kick to the body
and Stevens connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Gym throws a head kick that misses. #CL2#
Stevens forces Gym back against the cage and clinches.
Stevens scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Stevens scores with a shoulder strike. #ROC2#Gym is rocked!
Stevens working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Oh Gym is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Stevens dips a shoulder and cracks Gym with a mighty uppercut! Gym falls back against the cage and Stevens unloads with a barrage of strikes! Gym is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Stevens screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Chris Stevens decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. |
