#R1##TD2# Taylor bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The Clean is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. The Clean slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. The Clean pulls Taylor in close to his closed guard and prevents Taylor from doing any damage or advancing position. Taylor must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The Clean manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Taylor manages to get himself to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The Clean passes into half guard. #T1# The Clean frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. #SUB# The Clean with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Taylor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with The Clean. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Taylor is looking to improve his position but The Clean isn't that keen on the idea. The Clean postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Taylor looks a forlorn figure.

#R1# Muerte's jab looks to have found its range, popping The Clean under the eye. Muerte displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from The Clean. Muerte throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around The Clean's waist but The Clean gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Muerte off to one side. The Clean throws a combination that misses #TD# and Muerte counters with a takedown into side control. The Clean struggling a bit here. Muerte trying to control the position but The Clean is working away. The Clean tries to improve position but can't. The Clean isn't going anywhere. The Clean gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Muerte seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Muerte will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning The Clean up against the cage. Muerte lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of The Clean backwards. A short right from Muerte. Muerte throws a blind hook that connects with the side of The Cleans head. Muerte is trying to pull guard but The Clean turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.#TD# Muerte successfully pulls guard.

Muerte knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for The Clean on the ground. Muerte wants to control but The Clean is keeping busy.

Libertad Muerte has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Segoda The Clean. The Clean tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Muerte pushes The Clean back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Muerte goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
