#R1# Yonge throws an overhand right that lands on Leonard's shoulder, as Leonard tries to avoid the shot. Nice jab there from Yonge. Yonge lands a really nice looking cross but Leonard seems unphased.
Leonard tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yonge swivels and escapes. Yonge blocks a leg kick. Yonge changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Leonard lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Yonge circles away quickly and effectively. Yonge tries to counter by closing the distance. Leonard blocks a head kick by Yonge.
Yonge fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Yonge with a nice cross. Yonge does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Leonard tries to counter by clinching up but Yonge breaks away and moves out of range. Yonge lands a jab to the nose. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Leonard closes this distance looking for a takedown but Yonge circles away. Yonge fails with a takedown attempt.#T1# Yonge circles away from the clinch attempt.
Yonge slaps away a takedown attempt from Leonard, before circling back to the center of the mat. Yonge tries to counter with a clinch but Leonard shakes him off and moves away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Damien Leonard. That's going to take a lot out of him. Yonge swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Leonard. Yonge tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Leonard defends well and Yonge ends up having to push Leonard into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. A little feinted left hand from Leonard on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Leonard tries a head kick but it misses.

Leonard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yonge tries to avoid it but Leonard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yonge to the ground. Yonge escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Yonge sizes up Leonard with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Leonard shoots in but Yonge avoids the takedown attempt easily.#T2# Yonge scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Yonge works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Leonard shoots and misses #CL2# and Yonge counters by clinching up. Yonge taking a breather. Yonge keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Leonard's efforts to push away. Leonard tries to pull guard but Yonge won't allow it.
Leonard tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Yonge smiles and moves away.
Yonge throws a lazy right hand but Leonard sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Leonard misses the body punch #CL2# and Yonge holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Yonge has Leonard pushed against the cage. Yonge lands a left hand that snaps the head of Leonard backwards. #T3##TD2# Yonge gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.#SUB2# Yonge looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Yonge frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Yonge in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.#SUB2# Yonge working for a guillotine from mount but Leonard is in no mood to give up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Yonge passes Leonard's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Yonge is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Yonge cracks Leonard with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!#SUB2# Yonge has control of Leonard's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Leonard regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Carlton Yonge has got the better of the ground game so far.#T1# Yonge can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Leonard is looking to escape. #SUB2# Yonge has hold of Leonard's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Leonard manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
#SUB2# Yonge is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Leonard can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
#SUB2# Yonge looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T2# Leonard is trying to escape the mount.
